A trip to George Widmans' Candy Shop was Monday's highlight. Mr. Widman talked about what it takes to run a business.

Free samples were an essential part of his valuable advice!
Monday's guest instructors were Brian Troftgruben, entrepreneur and owner of Ideal Landscapes and George Widman, owner of Widman's Candystore.
Tuesday

Dr. Russ Wilber, lecturer, UND College of Business and Pubic Administration, led a workshop on how to explore business ideas using the Internet.

Heath Copp, owner of Peragon Enterprises, discussed creativity, the business idea, and shared his own entrepreneurial experience.
Wednesday

Dean Dennis Elbert and Traci Korynta, director of marketing for Subway and TCBY, were Wednesday's guest instructors. They explained the basics
of marketing.

Thursday

Students worked on marketing and presentation of their products -- chocolate-covered: blueberries, Starburst, Twizzlers, Marshmallows, and Gummi worms.

Tammy Peterson, commercial loan officer at Bremer Bank, was the guest instructor.

The candy sale was held at the Columbia Mall in front of Daytons.

Friday's guest instructors were UND's Entrepreneurship director, Dr. Bill Dougan and George Youngerman, regional director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
Graduation

 

A luncheon and graduation celebration followed morning wrap-up sessions. UND President, Charles Kupchella welcomed the Buzz on Biz grads and their parents.
Noted entrepreneur John Korsmo, former owner of the F-M Beez, gave the commencement address.
