As a member of PBL you can earn recognition at the local, state, and national levels by competing in events at SLC/NLC and completing activities to earn awards through the Career and Mebership Achievement Program.

Competitive Events
At our State Leadership Conference in the spring, students can compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills against other students from the state. Top state winners are eligible to compete for national awards and scholarships at the National Leadership Conference each summer.

More than 50 events to choose from.

Covering diverse areas such as: accounting, marketing, management, business law, economics, computer programming, statistics, and public speaking.

Some events consist of a written test, while others may involve an oral presentation. Events may be individual based or team/chapter based.

Career and Membership Achievement Program CMAP
CMAP is a comprehensive membership recognition program encompassing PBL projects, goals, and programs with special emphasis on career development and preparation for the world of work.

Director Award. This award focuses on introductory community service, career research, and PBL involvement at the local level. Pins are sent to the local adviser to award at a local meeting or ceremony.

Executive Award - Prerequisite: Director Award. This award focuses on developing job interview skills, state and national PBL involvement, public relations activities, and leadership skills. Pins are sent to the state adviser/chair to be presented at a state meeting or conference.

President Award - Prerequisite: Director and Executive Awards This award focuses on total association leadership, business skills, and involvement in community. Students qualifying for this award will receive pins at the National Leadership Conference.
